I taught the Data Analysis sequence to incoming Doctoral and Masters students in the Psychology program. The course also draws graduate students from Linguistics, Business, Anthropology, Communication Sciences and more. I taught this course yearly from 2019 until I left the University of Oregon in 2026.
Data Analysis I
Topics covered:
- Summary statistics (means, standard deviations, correlations)
- Probability theory
- Sampling
- Frequentist inference (p-values, power, Type I error)
- Comparing means (t-tests)
Data Analysis II
I frequently taught the second term of Data Analysis (2020-2023).
Topics covered:
- Regression and the general linear model
- Covariates and control variables
- ANOVA and Factorial ANOVA
- Interactions and moderation
